Gillian Rabalais, Director of Education and Programming, named a 2021 Northshore Forty Under 40 Honoree
Congratulations to the Children's Museum of St. Tammany's Director of Education and Programming, Gillian Rabalais, on being named a 2021 Northshore Forty Under 40 Honoree.
Gillian is passionate about what she does and understands the importance of informal education for all the children in our region. She balances her responsibilities well as she oversees all social media marketing efforts as well as develops the learning objectives for the museum. This means that she is designing the teaching content of exhibits as well as the educational tenets that the employees must learn to be able to facilitate the activities for our guests. Gillian coordinates education outreach opportunities, camps, field trips, and museum membership. She is personally passionate about the Natural Wonders Gallery and brings a wealth of experience to the museum from her work at Audubon Nature Institute.
She loves to see children discover, imagine, and explore as they enter each gallery at the museum. She has served in this capacity since October of 2018. She was solely responsible for transforming our open tactile museum into a virtual museum during the 3 months we were closed due to the pandemic. With only a phone and computer, she recorded, edited, and published video content for families. We loved watching our reach grow from a local and regional museum to a global virtual museum. Our Storytime was watched weekly in Greece all because of Gillian.
She has recently been selected as a representative on the Regional Advisory Committee of the Louisiana Regional STEM Network.
She is an outstanding representative of the museum, Mandeville, and St. Tammany Parish. We are thankful that she shares her talent with the children and families of our area.
Congratulations, Gillian!
