Camp Curiosity is open to campers 4-7 years old. Each session includes weekly themed activities, Museum free play, daily visits to the Kids Konnection Playground.
Campers can choose from the following themes:
Week 1: When I Grow Up– What do you want to be when you grow up? Campers will explore the ways that different careers can help our community through literacy, music and movement, science, art and play. They will have the opportunity to meet and interact with various professionals in careers ranging from first responders, STEM experts and more.
Week 2: Storybook Chefs– Are you an aspiring chef? Favorite children’s literature provides the inspiration for recipes kids will learn, combining the interests in reading and cooking for an enriching experience. Children will engage in math concepts like measurement, weight and time, along with music, art and play experiences.
Week 3: Commotion in the Ocean–Join us for a wet and wild adventure to explore what lives and lies in the deep, blue sea! Campers will learn through hands-on activities, up close animal encounters, ocean crafts, music, and play. Dive in and explore the exciting world of ocean life!
Week 4: ARTRageous– Calling all artists! Campers will learn basic techniques and explore many fantastic art forms using different media. As they cut, draw, paint, glitter, glue, and rub pastels, children will be developing storytelling and team-building skills. Children will work with local artists to explore different types of art styles, including music and performing arts.
Week 5: Invention Convention–Do you have a curious child? While tapping into their imagination, campers will discover that an invention can happen at any place or any time. This session will inspire curiosity and help kids build essential STEM skills through collaboration and problem solving. Campers will explore hands-on challenges and open-ended adventures designed to unlock creativity. Each camper will design a robot to take home!
Week 6: Out of this World– Have you ever wondered what it takes to be an astronaut? Campers will train like an astronaut and explore the similarities and differences of life in space vs. life on Earth through engaging STEM activities, music and movement, art and play!
Week 7: Journey Around the World– Grab your passport and come explore the world with us! Campers will be issued their own passport and engage in daily activities to learn about the culture, food, music, art and life in countries around the world.
Week 8: Weather Watchers– Join us as we explore our ever-changing seasons, weather patterns, temperature, and more! Through art, music and play, campers will explore weather watching tools, investigate weather’s effect on living things, and track daily weather while strengthening their problem-solving skills. Children will have the opportunity to interact with local professionals and learn about their roles in protecting our community from severe weather.
Week 9: Natural Wonders– Let’s go wild! This session will focus on helping kids develop an understanding and appreciation of the natural world. Campers will have fun exploring the world around them, and learn from nature-based curriculum, including age-appropriate activities that engage children in STEM, art, music and play!
