The Dakota Restaurant Named Celebration’s Choice 2015

March 13, 2015

On Sunday, March 8th, approximately 1,300 patrons at Celebration: A Treasure Odyssey voted The Dakota Restaurant in Covington as Celebration’s Choice 2015.

This was the fourth year that Celebration’s Choice was awarded at the annual fundraiser benefitting the Children’s Museum of St. Tammany.  Each year, approximately 40 restaurants participate in a Culinary Showcase at the event and vie for votes from attendees.  Previous winners include DiCristina’s Italian & Seafood Restaurant and Liz’s Where Y’at Diner.

“Celebration’s Choice is a fun way to encourage patrons to sample dishes from all of our participating restaurants and gives them a voice in naming the best dish of the evening,” commented Leanne Caruso,Celebration’s Choice chair. “It’s all good-natured fun but the restaurants truly bring their A-game and the guests love deciding what dish will earn their vote!”

The Dakota served Lump Crabmeat & Brie Soup to a steady line of eager patrons, earning the majority vote for best dish.

“We are so grateful to have such committed restaurants participate in our event each year—committed not only to their art, but to their community,” remarked Lani Fast, Celebration restaurant co-chair. “The time and effort they take on to benefit the children of this parish by participating in Celebration is so appreciated, as is the amazing cuisine they share with our patrons.”
